Interval Alphabet

This is a chart I created for a student. It illustrates the interval alphabet and gives four examples. Below that is the intervallic content of popular scales. Finally, the quality of the triads of three scales are shown.

A short glossary:

Interval - the amount of space between two notes, which the ear can be trained to recognize regardless of pitch content

Triad - three note chord, traditionally derived from the diatonic content of a piece

Diatonic - without deviation from one scale's pitches
